Marking the 20th anniversary of the launch of Slow Food Internazionale in Paris in 1989, on 10 December 150 countries will celebrate Terra Madre Day with hundreds of activities involving Presidia producers, food communities, cooks, academics, young people, musicians and all those who belong to the Terra Madre network and share the Slow Food philosophy.

Among the 1300 local Slow Food branches taking part in the festivities, Ivrea has organised a series of events for 10 December.

In the morning at the Politeama Cinema, a showing of Ermanno Olmi’s film Terra Madre for high school students; in the afternoon, at the ABC-Cinema, a lecture on Terra Madre in the Canavese district before, during and after Olivetti, given by Amerigo Vigliermo.

At 8:30 p.m., at the Community Hall in Samone, a dinner for the Canavese food community, when local producers will present their products and illustrate current conditions for their activities.
